December 4th, ACI XXIII
This Saturday last, December 4th, blessed the fields of Willow's Meadow, Broknarra with nearly ideal fighting weather. Among the 64 participants, we beheld numerous new Citizens, Citizenship renewals, and a strong influx of guests.
Our newcoming guests included Samantha Jott (referred by Mark Hankins), Robbie Williams (referred by Mark Hankins), Mark Catalano (referred by Ross Spiker), Austin Broden (referred by Ross Spiker), Mike Houson (referred by Marco), Nathanael Reichman (referred by Soli Tertia), Sarah Beeson, Marco Legount (mka. Mark Hankins; referred by Lord Genseric von Nurnberg), David James (referred by Drecko Razelle), Kevin Stulaferne (referred by Marco Legount), David Ross, Phillip Beasley, Warren James, and Chris Hulson (who saw us at the park). A hearty Broknarran welcome to you all!
Our renewing Citizens was Aavid Logan and Lord Jon Wallace (an Apokryphan Veteran of more than 10 years!), while our new Citizens included Mark Catalano (on his first day out), Austin Broden (on his first day our - 2 years!), Nathanael Reichman (on his first day out)
It was quite a boon to have such a strong turnout on this first weekend of December which, coincidentally makes each attendee eligible for Zealot as this weekend was the formal start of the Stalwart and Zealot Season sponsored by our Crown Earl, Lord Tristin du Navarre.

Faction Battles
The field witnessed the amassing of Dragons Storming the Mountain, Legio IX, Sparta (supported by Dark Order), and the recently reincarnated Haus Nurnberg (now with the able band of their Ath Cro regiment).
The first battles was intensely close with Haus Nurnberg laying waste to nearly all that it encountered thanks to its seasoned leadership as well as the famed Ath Cro regiment. At the last, they had fought remnants of successive teams and suffered attrition; finally succumbing to a sole remaining Roman. In the two remaining faction battles, Sparta and the Dragons... each picked up a point; ensuring that no one faction owned the day.
Warlord Tourney: Santa vs. The Grinch
This 3rd of 4 battles in the Warlord Tourney between the forces of Santa and the forces of the Grinch witnessed a grossly outnumbered Jolly One. At the outset, Santa's helpers swore to at very least take down at least one person each before succumbing. In fact, they did just that; though they ultimately fell to the mass of Grinchlings.
Inspired by their deeds of valor, Santa's Helpers engaged the Grinch and company with renewed vigor; so much so that they managed to gain a narrow victory; thereby tying the contest for the day's point.
In the 3rd and final battle, the Grinchlings swore they would not suffer the shame of another defeat at the hands of nearly half their number. As such they dealt a strong defeat to the opposing Santa and helpers; thereby securing the day's point for Thane Takeda in honor of the Grinch!

Tale of Four Kings
With the whole of those present dividing up into 4 warring "Kingdoms", the Tale of Four enabled a fun mixing of people who might otherwise rarely be afforded an opportunity to fight with one another. The fray went to and fro across the wide expanses of Willow's Meadow. A fine time was had by all!
Qualifying Tourney 6 of 6: POLES (73" - 120")
Near day's end, the final of 6 Qualifying Tourney, POLES, was fought as parties sought to earn one of the last three slots to fight in the Champion's Tourney at the upcoming MELEE GATHERING on December 11th.
The final results were:

Provincial Council Meeting
The last action of the day was the bi-monthly Provincial Council meeting. Solicitation for topics has been made for over a month and the final list of topics was collected in time for the two-week-prior deadline on midnight of 11/20.
At MELEE, there are no weighted votes so each of the 24 Citizens present had an equal say in the topics up for popular ratification.
Topics:
1) Hunter "Squirrel" Park was voted in as the new Deed Parcel III which will be fought over in the Thane Battle at the upcoming Gathering on 12/11.
2) The NEW Syn Earning Proposal was voted-in by a majority of 17 "for" and 7 against.
Currently ALL Citizens (paid members) earn 1 syn per week (paid during sign-in) provided they are wearing garb. Proposed amendment as follows:
~ All Active Reeves earn 2 syn per week (paid during sign-in) provided they are wearing garb when present.
~ All Faction Captains earn 3 syn per week (paid during sign-in) provided they meet the following requirements: wearing garb when present, their faction fields standalone during faction battles, their faction flag is visible on the field
~ All Retainers (Chancellors & Ministers) earn 3 syn per week (paid during sign-in) provided they are wearing garb when present.
~ The Crown of Broknarra earns 4 syn per week (paid during sign-in) provided they are wearing garb when present.
~ All remaining Citizens (paid members) that are not attributed to one of the prior 4 categories would continue to earn 1 syn per week (paid during sign-in) provided they are wearing garb.
3) A vote was held to confirm Lord Magnus Munro for an additional year term of office as Chancellor of the Ward. The vote was unanimous "for."
4) The Order of Reeves proposed amendments to the MELEE Laws of Conduct in the following areas:
POLICY ADDITION:
For any action that confers a punitive measure of ONE month or greater, the Reeves will convene as soon as possible on the day of the infraction (with the affected party immediately suspended from further events that day), discuss amongst themselves the issue, then call the affected infractor(s) to discuss their position before they receive the final ruling from the Reeves.
Malicious Aggressive Contact (initiated or 'in kind' response) close- fisted punch, backhand, slap, kick, knee, head butt, bite, or the like:
* first offense = out the rest of the day + suspended from events for six months month
* second offense = out the rest of the day + suspended from events for one year
* third offense = out forever

Push Match:
* first offense = out the rest of the day + suspended from events for one week
* second offense = out the rest of the day + suspended from events for one month
* third offense = out the rest of the day + suspended from events for six months

* second offense = out the rest of the day + suspended from events for one month

Malicious Thrown Weapon (thrown at someone or in a matter that is judged by the Reeves to harm someone):
* first offense = suspension from events for one week, and suspension of arms privilege in weapon category thrown for one month
* second offense = suspension from events for one month, and suspension of proficiency in weapon category thrown for six months
* third offense = out forever

- Minister of Feasts, Viviana, through the end of June 2005
- Minister of Battles, Wolfgang, through the end of June 2005
- Minister of Awards, Thalyn, through end of June 2005
- Minister of Artillery, Tiegin, through end of June 2005
New Minister positions created:
- Minister of Recruitment (Advertising) for Jan - Mar 2005
- Minister of Enlistment (Demonstrations) for Jan - Mar 2005
- Minister of Histories(Persona Development) through end of June 2005
